CORKY’S HOT ICE sparkles as a cult-variety comedy Whodunit...The backdrop of the story is the on-
going political turmoil in the Philippines including its series of corrupt presidents, revolutionaries, and
separatists. The gimmick of the plot is a glittering diamond necklace reportedly worth $15 million dollars
– the “Tears of Liberty” – swiped from the Philippine National Treasury. In this romp that flits somewhere
between the perils of the Pink Panther and the adventures of Victor/Victoria twirls a kaleidoscope of
shady politicos, pawnbrokers and police who tangle with the over-poofed, heavily feathered and painted,
very pumped and puckered glamorous gender benders, impersonators and muscle boys in boots,
pumps and balloon bras gathering at an annual Russian River drag pageant.
The mayor of the city of Milpitas, Jose S. Esteves, declares 9/12/08 to be "Corky's Hot Ice Day."  The
Commendation states, "In recognition of the contribution made by this motion picture and its Bay Area
creator; to teach us lessons about love, diversity, and innocence through humor, I am proclaiming today,
September 12, 2008, as "Corky's Hot Ice Day" in the City of Milpitas."
