The chase is on!
A police inspector and his young officer
sidekick must quickly find Corky at a drag
pageant at the Russian River before the
scandal of the stolen necklace brings financial
ruin to their boss and civil war to the
Philippines.
Corky's Hot Ice finishes with a double surprise
ending in which we learn the heart-warming
fate of the Tears of Liberty, and how the young
police officer solves his romantic dilemma.
Corky’s Hot Ice showcases toe-tapping
music, memorable nightclub performances,
and a cast of characters you won't soon forget.
It is a light upbeat comedy with only one
purpose in mind: to have you leaving the
theater with a smile on your face.
Fast forward to the present day.
The Tears of Liberty is laundered through a
pawn shop in San Francisco. But on a dark
night, a mysterious figure in a wig and dress
breaks into the pawn shop, steals the
necklace...and vanishes.
This time we have a suspect. His name is...
Corky Hotpoint…?
And he’s a draq performer…!?
Corky's Hot Ice wants you to play a game.
Can you always tell who is a man, woman, or
transgender person in this movie?
About two-thirds into the film during the
nightclub scene, Dana International performs
her smash hit song "Diva" as runway models
pose for the audience. Can you tell which of
them are male and which are female? Both are
there, but can you tell the difference?
Earlier in the movie, there are a couple of
women who appear as men. Can you tell who
they are?
We are not giving away the secret because
then it would not be a game. And there is a
message behind it: beauty, both inner and
outer, is found in diversity. Create beauty in the
ways that inspire you, and enjoy it when you find
it.
Corky's Hot Ice has the goal of making you
smile, but along the way it teaches you a little
history about a brave people, the Filipinos, who
have struggled for centuries to gain and
preserve their independence and liberties.
In 1896, the Filipinos threw off three centuries of
Spanish rule and established their indepen-
dence. A leading group in this rebellion was the
secret society known as the Katipunan, whose
early flag consisted of three white "K"s against
a red background (briefly seen in Corky's Hot
Ice, with the Philippines national anthem playing
in the background.)
New challenges to independence were later
faced and overcome by the Filipino people. But
even after their freedom as a nation was firmly
secured in the 20th and 21st centuries, they
faced struggles against internal corruption.
Among the most inspiring were the People
Power revolutions of 1986 (the "EDSA"
revolution) and 2001 ("EDSA 2"). Corrupt
presidents were peacefully removed as people
took to the streets in mass demonstrations.
EDSA 2 is a backdrop to the story in Corky's
Hot Ice. It is a story that is not yet finished. The
president who was removed from office in
EDSA 2, namely Joseph Estrada (nicknamed
"Erap") has recently attempted a political
comeback. The violent Islamic separatists who
placed bombs in Manila are still a problem
today. Through it all, the Filipinos remain a
warm and wonderful people for whom the
blessings of liberty and peace are richly
deserved.

It all starts in the year 2001.
The Philippines is engulfed in political turmoil.
Its president Joseph Estrada faces
impeachment while Islamic rebels explode
bombs in Manila.
During the commotion, a mysterious figure in a
wig and dress steals a fabulous $15 million
dollar diamond necklace known as the Tears of
Liberty from the Philippines National Treasury...
and vanishes.
